Weekly Camps

Please note that all of the following camps are one week specialty camps. All of these programs will be held at the Summit Community Center in the Benson Room, at 100 Morris Ave; unless otherwise noted. All Registration fees listed below are for Summit Residents. Non-Residents are subject to a $20.00 Non-Resident fee.

Game Design: Motorcross

Everybody start your engines! On your mark, get set, GO! Kids are drawn to the excitement of a race. They hoot and holler in anticipation that the car they chose will cross the finish line first. Students will work together and use the Engineering Design Process to create a storyboard that will outline the rules of play and characters for our game based on the basic rules of racing. Then, we will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming. At the end of the program, everyone takes home a working Windows - compatible game


Fashion Passion

Learn the fundamentals of fashion design and hand sewing! Discover how to create your own fashion sketches then tackle cool fashion projects each class. Design and create your own clutch bags, tee shirts, statement jewelry, pillows and more!

Live Action Flix

Do you want to have a blast making a movie? You don't have to be an actor to star in these movies that you make from "Action" to "That's a wrap." We'll guide you through the Hollywood process as you brainstorm, location scout, bring in props and costumes, act and direct in a collaborative movie that will be fun for the entire audience. *All flix downloadable within a month after camp ends. 


Starwars Stop Motion Flix

From a Galaxy far far away, to a summer location near you…. Star Wars stop motion movie making! Create very own Star Wars paper characters and bring them to life using the magic of Stop Motion Animation. Students will create characters and sets for an original Star Wars movie they storyboard, write, shoot, and voice-over in age-appropriate groups. *Flix downloadable within a month after camp ends.

OMG I Made That

Crafters unite! This pinterest inspired crafts class will astonish and amaze your tween/teen when they learn amazing DIY projects including how to sew on a machine, how to make lip balms, scrubs, candles, polymer sculpted jewelry , room scents, bath bombs and more! 


Lego Robotics: Robot Surgeons


1:00 - 4:30PM
$195 Registration Fee
Ages 5-12


In Lego Robotics: Robo Surgeons, student will be introduced to the world of building and programming basic robots. Throughout this course the students will explore different ways in which a robot could be utilized in the medical field. Students will create their own robot "medical intern". Students will program their intern to set a bone, administer aid and even perform a roboperation!

Tennis Camp

5:30-7:00PM at Tatlock Tennis Courts

$120 for children ages 5-8 or

$120 for children ages 8-11

This tennis camp is appropriate for tennis players ranging from beginners, to those already well versed in the sport of tennis. Groups are separated by age and ability to ensure all players flourish in the optimum positive learning environment while having a great time!

Each day will be centered around a tennis "Grand Slam" theme where players participate in fun-filled, innovative and progressive learning games. All players must provide their own racquet

July 31 - August 3


Pony Share: PEP Program

9:00 - 10:30AM or 3:00 - 4:30PM
$190 Registration Fee
Ages 3-6

Participants will learn safety on and around the ponies, grooming techniques, basic riding skills, and other primary horsemanship skills. While this is not a Horseback Riding lesson per se, the program includes an exciting riding component whereas each child will get to ride about 20 minutes and learn how to properly mount, dismount, hold the reins and control the horse/pony at the walk and a few steps of trot.  Sessions aim to help develop confidence and motor-coordination skills while providing a supportive, fun, non-threatening environment for the participants as well as social interaction between them.  This is a participatory program for parents who so desire, so one may be asked to occasionally lend a hand.  Parents/guardians must stay on location during the Program.  The perfect preparation for private or semi-private lessons for eager, young, aspiring Equestrians, or for subsequent, more advanced Pony programs!  

Pony Share: PGRP Program

10:45 - 12:45PM

This unique 4-day Program provides an exciting and inexpensive hands-on introduction to the wonderful world of equines in a fun-filled and supportive atmosphere.  PonyShare uses camp-trained ponies and cobs (smaller and easier to handle than their larger equine counterparts).  Small groups of 4-5 children are formed according to age and prior experience, if any.  After reviewing safety rules, material previously covered and learning a new subject matter, participants are assigned their size-related pony or cob and each small group works under the tutelage of a qualified and motivated Counselor.  Some of the horsemanship skills covered may include:  Safety on and around horses; Basic Anatomy; Equine Senses & body Language; grooming, The Tack and Harness; English and Western styles; Barn Management; and Careers in the Industry.  Participants also get to ride or drive their charges for about 20 minutes during each Session.  This Program enhances team work, self-esteem, and camaraderie while helping develop a genuine appreciation and respect for the animals.  Course Materials are provided.  A winner by many…furlongs this Program is very popular and tends to book early!


Schoolhouse Chess

Our Schoolhouse Chess program makes chess fun! We bring pieces to life using creative personalities. Our imaginative characters accelerate the learning process and fascinate children. Play with our giant chess set – the biggest you’ve every seen! This camp is appropriate for beginners through intermediate players. It covers all rules, strategies and tactics. Fashion Sewing for Kids

Design and sew your own outfit during this 6-week session where you will create a stylish top and bottom! Encore Fashion Works' Fashion Sewing class is designed for beginner or returning students. We will begin with a review of the machine, threading and filling bobbins, then move on to ironing (safety lesson included), overview of fabrics and using commercial patterns. From there, our instructors will guide students through their 2 projects step-by-step. The session wraps up with an exciting Fashion Show for family and friends!

Sweet Treats and Candy

Minecraft: Traveling to the Future

There has been a catastrophe on earth and students will have to help the human race survive either on earth or another planet. The class will be played out in the expansive world of Minecraft, and will focus on learning engineering concepts through guided gameplay. Each day, students will be given missions and assignments based on different scenarios and they will craft, mine and build solutions to the challenges they are presented with. Building in Minecraft allows students to experiment with designs and materials, all without the risks associated with building structures in reality.

NASA Space Academy

Mad Science and NASA® have teamed up to bring you the excitement and wonder of space in the NASA® Space Academy camp. This is your chance to be a rocket scientist! Explore the science involved in rocket construction as you build your own rocket. Use teamwork to complete an important space mission and build a model space station. Explore the farthest reaches of our solar system and create a lunar eclipse in our Mad Science planetary tour. This stellar camp is your ticket to the stars as you journey through the galaxy.
