Join us for our fourth annual celebration
Sunday, May 3, 2026 on Summit's Village Green!
The City of Summit's annual Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 3 PM until 6 PM on the Village Green (356 Broad Street). This event is free and open to the public.
The event will feature dance and musical performances, cultural demonstrations such as the Purple Swans, Korean Drums, Bhangra, Chinese Changing Face, and more! Wear a white shirt and bring a change of clothes as the event ends with a Holi ceremony, and more. Community organizations will set up displays highlighting different aspects of AAPI culture, with heritage showcases, outdoor games, and other activities for attendees to enjoy.

Save the Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025 on Summit's Village Green!
The Department of Community Programs is hosting its fourth annual Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month event on Saturday, May 17, 2025. The free
event will take place from 2PM to 6PM on the Village Green, located at 356 Broad Street. All citizens are invited to attend to celebrate and learn about AAPI culture.
The entertainment stage will feature performances from groups in different Asian communities, including:
·2:00-2:30 – Chinese Lion Dance and Shangwu Kung Fu
·2:40-3:10 – Karate Demonstration
·3:20-3:35 – Tai Chi Demonstration with Ayriel
·3:40-4:00 – Japanese Drums – Yoko Nakahashi Fellowship Ensemble
·4:00-4:30 – Dance X Studio Bollywood Dance
·4:30-4:50 - Royal Crew K Pop Performance with Royal Dance
·5:00 – Holi Celebration
The event will also include a Holi celebration and a ceremony to honor accomplishments of the AAPI community.

The planning committee for this event includes members from the City of Summit, the Summit Chinese American Association, and volunteers from surrounding communities. This event is sponsored by Atlantic Health, Saint John’s Lutheran Church, and Summit AAPI.
